Nihon Garter History
The company was founded in 1944 as a manufacturer of knitting machines. The company was the first in the world to build the first knitting machine.
This technology was acclaimed worldwide with the 20 Tokyo City Excellent Invention Award (Tokyo Yushu Hatsumei Ten), Tokyo City Governor Award and the British Blue Ribbon Award as well as being approved for patents in the USA, Switzerland, Germany and France.
The mid 70’s saw the gradual decline in the demand for knitting machines. In 1979, some small work came our way from the electronics industry where the electronics industry asks to build a new packaging for semiconductor devices. This is the start of the era of Embossed Carrier Tape.
